Our mission
Crime Concern is a national crime reduction organisation. We work with local people and crime and disorder partners to reduce crime and create living and working environments where everyone can lead their lives free from fear and intimidation.
Our status
We are:

An independent, not-for-profit organisation, set up in 1988

A registered charity with a board of trustees

Endorsed by Government departments, the Association of Chief Police Officers, the Local Government Association, and all main political parties

Supported by the Home Office and a range of charitable trusts and businesses
Main functions
We have three main areas of work:

Providing technical assistance and training to local partnerships, practitioners and community activists

Setting up and managing projects
-
Influencing and promoting what works in crime reduction and community safety
Main deliverers

We employ over 340 staff, 90% of whom are crime reduction advisers, trainers, project managers and their administrative staff operating from nine offices and 60 project locations within each of the Government regions. An office in Wales is to be established in 2002.

Our main support services – communications, accounts, IT, HR and the Chief Executive’s office - are based in our Swindon Headquarters
