Audits and Strategies home > Audits and Strategies - Print this toolkit

The audit and strategy process is essentially a piece of research and should be structured to reflect sound research principles

This toolkit is designed to introduce these principles and give practical examples of how they can be followed within the audit and strategy process. This toolkit is not designed to replace the existing guidance but to be used alongside it.

How to use the printed toolkit

This toolkit is designed to be flexible.  It is structured so that you can either read it straight through from start to finish or you can dip in and out of the sections you need.

Each part of the guidance is structured in the same way:

  • Each section of the guidance begins with a grey box summarising the key headings covered in the section.  You can use these boxes as a quick checklist.

  • Key headings are expanded in more detail in each section.

  • "Issues for Consideration" are highlighted where relevant.

  • "Further Information" specific to the areas covered in that section are referenced at the end of each section

The Audits and Strategies Toolkit has also been separated into sections to make downloading easier.

The guidance has been written and designed by a consortium of stakeholders from the Regional Government Offices, the Research community, practitioners and the Home Office.
