Keep an eye open for bogus callers - a guide for carers and care professionals (GCCP)

This new booklet will be published in February 2007. It contains common sense tips for carers and care professionals to help pervent the person they care for from becoming a victim of bogus callers. It covers important subjects such as good doorstep behaviour, promoting independence, money and valuables, reporting of crime and many more.

As the title suggests, this booklet is suitable for care professionals, care workers and carers (ie. friends, relatives or neighbours).

Keep Safe - a guide to personal safety (KSLD1)

This A4 booklet is designed specifically for people with learning disabilities, setting out ways to protect themselves from crime. Page 2 to 5 contain advice on how to prevent from becoming a victim of bogus callers and distraction burglary.

The booklet also covers issues such as bullying, mugging and attacks. There is also advice on where to seek help and how to report incidents to the police.

Lock, Stop, Chain, Check door sticker (FDS3)

The door sticker is 20x7cm and is designed to provide a visual reminder to follow safe doorstep behaviour. The sticker reminds people to keep all doors locked and when answering the door to Stop, Chain, Check. This 22-minute video is designed for practitioners who want to learn the most effective way of using , 'Closing the Door on Bogus Callers', the video aimed at members of the public.
