Crime Reduction - Helping to Reduce Crime in Your Area

Seasonal alcohol related crime and domestic abuse expert online chat.

Online chats are an opportunity for practitioners to put questions to a panel of 'experts' in the field of crime reduction and community safety. The advantage of an online chat is that you don't have to leave your desk to access a wealth of combined knowledge and experience in your lunch hour!

On Tuesday 9th October 2007 between 12.00 and 14.00 the Home Office will be joined by a panel of experts from a range of backgrounds who will be addressing the question above. It will also be an opportunity to share information about what you are doing in your area to help reduce these types of incident.

Everyone taking part will be emailed an electronic copy of the transcript of the session after the event.

Can't make the session?

Send your question to alex.blackwell@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk and it will be asked on the day. Within two weeks of the chat an edited transcript of the key questions and discussions will be posted on the website.

The next online chat session will focus on the issue of domestic burglary in the run up to the seasonal peak around December-January, with a specific focus on distraction burglary and ways to target the increase via local campaigns. It will take place on 6th November 12:00 - 14:00.
