Diana Barran is the Director of CRARG, the Co-ordinated Response and Advocacy Resource Group. CRARG is an independent charity that aims to make survivors of domestic violence safer by supporting the work of advocates or IDVA's. CRARG delivers accredited training for advocates, offers support to advocacy projects and implementation help with DV MARACs. She was previously Head of Grant Development for New Philanthropy Capital. A graduate of King's College, Cambridge, Diana founded a European Hedge Fund in 1993. Diana is a trustee of the Henry Smith Charity and the Hestia Fund.
Chief Inspector Martin Goodall - Police and Partnership Standards Unit, Home Office
Chief Inspector Goodall is a police officer with 24 years experience in Hampshire Constabulary, Seconded to the Police and Partnership Standards Unit in April 2006 and he has been the Domestic Violence Lead for the Tacking Violent Crime Programme since that time.
Chief Inspector Goodall compiled the Lessons Learned document for Police & Crime Standards Directorate following the 2 Domestic Violence Enforcement Campaigns funded by the Home Office and is part of the ACPO Domestic Violence Steering group under DCC Moore.
In addition he has been the PCSD Project lead for the Body Worn Video Devices project to provide police with enhanced evidence gathering at scenes of domestic violence and violence in the night time economy.
Sarah Graham - Community Safety Officer, Stockton-on-Tees
Sarah is a Community Safety Officer and was employed in May 2005 to monitor Stockton's Alcohol Harm Minimisation Plan and work on different projects to achieve the aims and outcomes of the Plan. The post is part-funded by North Tees PCT, and she is based in Stockton Police Station so really does represent multi-agency working towards reducing alcohol-related harm in Stockton! Sarah is part of a small development team who work on the Think B4U Drink campaign, which was launched in October 2005. The campaign promotes safe and sensible drinking, and covers most aspects of alcohol-related harm including violent crime, health problems, personal safety, drink driving and, more recently, domestic violence.
Wendy Green - Domestic Violence Co-ordinator Rushcliffe Borough Council
Background in working with Notts Probation Service, seconded to working with offenders in prison, later as a Victim Contact Officer in the community and, in latter years moving into support/awareness roles as a worker for women experiencing domestic violence and then developing and delivering work in schools for young people around the issues of domestic violence and promoting non-abusive relationships. Currently the DV Co-ordinator for Rushcliffe Borough Council with a range of responsibilities, both strategic and frontline delivery - working with multi-agency partners to deliver on community awareness, protection for those experiencing abuse, work in schools and development of local service provision in the district.
Samantha Ingram - Sexual and Domestic Violence Team, Home Office
Since joining the Sexual and Domestic Violence Team in the Home Office's Violent Crime Unit over two years ago, Samantha Ingram has been leading for the Home Office on the Specialist Domestic Violence Court Programme, Independent Domestic Violence Advisors and Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conferences.
Deputy Chief Constable Brian Moore - Surrey Police
DCC Brian Moore joined the Metropolitan Police Service in 1978. He has served throughout his career in a variety of posts as a detective investigating murder and major crime and was posted to the Regional Crime Squads during the 1990s. Prior to his appointment as Head of the Murder Squads for Central London, Brian was the Deputy Head of the Anti-Corruption Squad for the Metropolitan Police. In 2002, Brian commanded Lambeth Borough and was appointed to ACPO in 2003 initially with responsibility for North East London and Criminal Justice and then as Commander (Crime Operations) for Territorial Policing in MPS. He was appointed Deputy Chief Constable of Surrey Police in 2005. Brian assumed responsibility for the ACPO Domestic Violence & Harassment portfolio in 2006 and also leads on ACPO activity in respect of Gangs as well as violent crime prevention.
