What was the Tilley Award for Operation Mullion?
- In 2006 an award was given for partnership working to tackle criminal damage to Hampshire Constabulary's Operation Mullion. The initiative resulted in significant reductions in criminal damage. Case studies of shortlisted entries are available.
Will there be a 2008 Tilley Award for problem solving in relation to criminal damage?
- No, this was a one-off initiative in 2006. This raised the profile of damage enough for there to be a lot of good criminal damage related entries in the 2007 main Tilley Award. We are pursuing other ways to develop good practice such as holding online action sessions and sharing the findings of funding ten areas to develop new approaches to tackling criminal damage.
Where do I find good practice?
- The Home Office has published a series of good practice guides available on this website. The website also has a page for sharing knowledge and ideas and a series of case studies.
- We are always pleased to receive information from practitioners on what works in tackling criminal damage and will disseminate good practice on this website. Please email criminal.damage@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk if you have found an approach that works in your area.
What publicity materials can we have?
- We do not have any available at this stage. But we would be grateful for any specific suggestions on what you would find helpful.
