JUSTICE AWARDS 2004 – Have you nominated anyone yet?
The whole criminal justice system in England and Wales is evolving to put victims and witnesses at the heart of the service, to work in co-operation across agencies and to bring more offences to justice. The Justice Awards 2004 will recognise those individuals who are working extra hard to make this and other important initiatives happen.

Baroness Scotland (Home Office Minister), along with judges including John Burbeck (chairman of Association of Chief Police Officers Criminal Justice committee and chief constable of Warwickshire Police) and Rod Morgan (chair, Youth Justice Board) will be looking for individuals and teams who work with witnesses, victims, communities, offenders and other agencies in dedicated and innovative ways.
400,000 people work or volunteer in the criminal justice system spanning the police, Crown Prosecution Service, Magistrates Courts, Crown Courts, Criminal Defense Service, Public Defense Service, Prison Service, National Probation Service, National Offender Management Service, Youth Offending Teams and criminal justice voluntary sector.
The panel would welcome any nominations.
The categories for nomination are:
Innovation;
Diversity;
Partnership and work with victims;
Witnesses;
Offenders;
Young offenders;
Communities.
