£6.3 million is available for local agencies/multi-agency partnerships to develop and implement local strategies for reducing two types of violence experienced by women: domestic violence, and rape and sexual assault by known perpetrators.

The Prospectus and Invitation to Bid set out what would be funded and explained the application, selection, monitoring and evaluation procedures. It invited local crime and disorder partnerships, domestic violence forums, and other relevant multi-agency partnerships and individual agencies working within a multi-agency context, to apply for funding. The application form is included in the prospectus and the closing date for applications was 17 April 2000.

Details of the projects funded under the scheme were published in August 2000.
