Notes:
1. Allocations to England and to Wales have followed the current 'Barnet formula'. Under this, the allocation to England is set at 100,. The allocation to Wales is set at 5.9. Thus, Wales gets 5.9 / 105.9 of the England and Wales share (5.571%). This principle has been followed in allocating each of the 20% equal share, the 50% crime share, and the 30% population share.
2. Resident population is as estimated by ONS for mid-1998, on April 1998 boundaries. Crime rates based on resident population may give a misleading impression in areas where numbers of non-residents, such as commuters and visitors, are significant.
3. Recorded crime figures are based on period October 1999 - September 2000. Property crime covers: robbery, burglary dwelling, thefts of vehicles, thefts from vehicles.
4. Figures are rounded to nearest £100. Total regional allocations may not add to CDRP allocations within regions because of rounding.
5. By local agreement, Llangollen, although in Denbighshire, is in the area of the Wrexham partnership and its crime has been included in the Wrexham total. Population and households estimates have been adjusted similarly.
