National Delivery on Domestic Violence

National Domestic Violence Delivery Plan

Government work on domestic violence is brought together in the cross-government National Domestic Violence Delivery Plan. In 2005 the Home Office published its first National Report on Domestic Violence, containing the framework of the National Delivery Plan which identified 5 key objectives for 2005/06 to address all apects of domestic violence, from prevention through to victim care and the response of the criminal justice system. The Delivery Plan enabled us to achieve a more strategic approach and a greater degree of transparency around Government action to address domestic violence.

In June 2006, the Home Office published its second national report, giving an update on our work for 2005/06 and outlining further key work objectives for 2006/07.

In March 2007, the Home Office published its third national report which outlined our considerable progress made across the seven domestic violence work streams in 2006/07 and outlined our key objectives for 2007/08. This included further development of the specialist domestic violence courts (SDVCs) programme, the establishent and roll out of independant domestic violence advisors (IDVAs); independant sexual violence advisors (ISVAs); sexual assualt referral centres (SARCs); and the development of Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARACs). All these measures will ultimately enable us to support more victims. Click here for further information and to view the National Progress Report 2006/07
