Who are children and young people?

Pre-school
Two-four year olds. Although these children are too young for serious messages they might understand simple concepts.

School years 1-2
This is an impressionable age and the children's maturity varies greatly. It is a good age for some messages but they may be scared by too much information.

School years 3-6
The children's maturity varies. Some children are sensitive and easily scared. Others need almost to be shocked for you to get and keep their attention. They are very interested in, and aware of, crime and they are potentially good messengers.

Secondary school
Again the children's maturity varies greatly. Some will be conscious of , and maybe involved in crime as victims or perpetrators. Others may not feel it is an issue that affects them. Their personal attitudes and influences play a big part in their opinions and participation.
