Arson Prevention Bureau
The Arson Prevention Bureau was established in 1991 by the Association of British Insurers and the Home Office. Its aim is to co-ordinate a national campaign to reduce the incidence and associated costs of arson by raising awareness, undertaking initiatives and working in partnership with other organisations.
Association for Payment Clearing Services
APACS manages the main networks which allows UK Banks and Building Societies to exchange payments on behalf of customers. It has responsibility for the co-operative aspects of money transmission and other payment-related developments. Their Card Services section deals with issues related to fraud.
Association of British Insurers
Offers advice and information on a wide range of insurance issues, and includes news releases and research papers.
British Retail Consortium (BRC)
The British Retail Consortium represents 90% of the retail trade in Britain. Its members run a variety of outlets from one-person corner shops to hypermarkets. BRC is directly involved in issues affecting retailing and the consumer including crime, the environment, European legislation and e-commerce amongst other things.
British Security Industry Association
The BSIA is the professional trade association for security companies in the UK and its members produce over 70% of security products and services in the UK market. The website contains all the latest news on security equipment and services as well as best practice and legislative change.
Card Watch
Card Watch is the UK banking industry's body that works with police, retailers and organisations including Crimestoppers to fight plastic card crime. The website is a useful source of information on payment card fraud and its prevention. It is run under the Association for Payment Clearing Services (APACS), the banking industry body overseeing money transmission and payment clearing activities in the UK.

Designing Out Crime Association (DOCA)
was formed to provide a focus for all Crime Prevention Through Design professionals and practitioners in the UK. The Association's mission statement is: 'To provide a forum to promote safer communities and reduce anti-social behaviour by improving the quality of life through the concept, application and practice of designing out crime.''
Farmwatch Limited
The farmwatch scheme was set up in Norfolk to help police to combat Rural Crime. They operate on a membership basis and offer security alarm installations and CCTV at reduced rates and can also hire out CCTV systems on a short term basis to help members in instances of thefts of fuel or other commodities.
Federation of Drug and Alcohol Professionals (FDAP)
The Federation of Drug & Alcohol Professionals (FDAP) is the professional body for practitioners in the substance use field. It is a membership organisation open to practitioners throughout the field - and works to help improve standards of practice in dealing with people with drug and alcohol problems.
Freight Transport Association (FTA)
The FTA supports the multi-modal transport interests of British industry. FTA membership gives free information, advice and support on all aspects of vehicle and fleet operation. Members can obtain information on FTA policy issues across the wide spectrum of freight transport and logistics issues.
International Compliance Association (ICA)
The ICA supports and educates compliance professionals in the fight against terrorist financing, corruption, money laundering and financial crime.
NACOSS (National Approval Council Of Security Systems)
NACOSS is not a trade organisation, but a scheme run by the National Security Inspectorate and is responsible for the regulation of electronic security system installers.
National Community Safety Network (NCSN)
The NCSN is a practitioner-led organisation supporting those involved in promoting community safety/crime reduction throughout the United Kingdom.
National Plant and Equipment Register Limited (TER)
TER was set up to combat the growth in plant theft by assisting the police with the identification and recovery of stolen construction plant and equipment on behalf of insurance companies and owners.
Road Haulage Association (RHA)
The RHA raises awareness of the security problems affecting the road haulage industry and encourages development procedures to improve business security. Advice and information is available on all aspects of depot, vehicle and load protection, together with security news, intelligence information and liaison contacts.
Secured By Design (SBD)
Secured By Design is a police initiative to encourage the building industry to adopt crime prevention measures in development design to assist in reducing the opportunity for crime and the fear of crime, creating a safer and more secure environment. The website includes SBD specifications and online application forms, together with lists of commercial suppliers that meet the SBD standard.
Security Industry Authority (SIA)
The Security Industry Authority is responsible for licencing the private security industry within the font-family: Arial;color:black">UK. The Authority also maintains a directory of approved private security contractors.
Security Systems and Alarms Inspection Board (SSAIB)
SSAIB is a non profit making organisation whose sole aim is to protect the users of security systems against unsafe or unsound security installations. It achieves this objective by maintaining a Roll of Installers throughout the country who are registered with the SSAIB.

Vehicle Security Installation Board
The VSIB is the National Regulatory and Accreditation body of Vehicle Security Installers. Its aim is to administer a code of practice governing and prescribing minimum standards for the installation of vehicle security for aftermarket fitment. The code applies to all types of security including locating and recovery systems, in cars, car derived vehicles, light commercial vehicles, heavy goods vehicles and motorcycles.
