*** September's bulletin begins ***

Welcome to September's bulletin of all that's new on the Crime Reduction Website. We have two main threads this week - one on youth justice interventions, and another looking at the law related to common public concerns.

Evaluation of youth justice programmes

The Youth Justice Board have published a series of evaluations of evaluations of the effectiveness of various interventions aimed at reducing recidivism amongst young people

Encams Guides

Encams, the people behind the Keep Britain Tidy campaign, have produced a range of brief (12 page) guides aimed at the public that explain the law in respect of a particular issue and what members of the public can and can't do. The guides also, helpfully, draw clear distinctions between English, Welsh, Scots and Irish law.

Also from Encams is the far weightier (132 page) Sustainable Communities Handbook. This explains what actions members of the community can take to help themselves and others make their local area a better place to live

Neighbourhood Watch

The Neighbourhood Watch Mini-site is now live and contains a wealth of information for those interested in Neighbourhood Watch, including: How to set up a scheme; crime prevention information; a new separate discussion forum for Neighbourhood Watch topics; and a range of Neighbourhood Watch advice and training materials,

Other material
