Community Support Officers
A wealth of new material on Community Support Officers (CSOs) - also known as Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) - has been published this month. The pick of the items is available through the website:
Domestic Violence
Romantic Valentine's Day was this year used as the launch date for a campaign aiming to reduce domestic violence. The campaign targets abusers and the friends of the abused, encouraging them to provide help to the abused if they can.
Vandalism
Vandalism consistently features in the top 3 resident's concerns in neighbourhood surveys. Along with burglary and vehicle crime, it's one the 3 volume crimes that form the bulk of reported crime. Acting against vandalism will address a key neighbourhood concern and cut crime levels. This series of 4-page leaflets explains how and why.
