Partnership Assessment and Delivery System (PADS)

The Partnership Assessment and Delivery System (PADS) is the system used by the Home Office to track performance by Crime & Disorder Reduction Partnerships (CDRPs) and to plan interventions in underperforming partnerships. A guidance document introducing partnerships to the new system is now available to download.

Criminal damage guides

We've added to the list of 4-page good practice guides issued by the Home Office on the topic of criminal damage. The 3 new additions looks at tackling arson, at taking a problem-oriented approach to tackling criminal damage, and at running clean up days.

Quarterly crime statistics

The most recent quarterly crime figures (published at the end of April) show overall crime levels to be a little lower than 12 months ago. Recent falls in volume crime have continued but there have been rises in violent crime and robbery.

Fraud

More statistics published this month analyse the level of fraud and technology crime in 2003/04 compared with 12 months previously. It finds stable levels of credit and debt card fraud (although the recent introduction of chip-and-pin is likely to have had an impact on this) and increases in home computer abuses (hacking, viruses and illegal downloading). Our material on fraud law has also been updated this month.
