Domestic violence

Domestic violence (DV) has been in the news this month with both research, consultation and delivery papers being published. The research finds large falls in DV over the past ten years, despite recent increases in overall violent crime. The delivery paper reports on the Government's progress in tackling DV over the past year. And the consultation paper seeks your views on statutory procedures to be followed in the event of domestic homicide.

Youth crime

Three papers published this month look at various aspects of youth crime. The first looks at re-offending rates amongst 10-17 year-olds and finds small reductions but further progress needed to meet Public Sector Agreement (PSA) targets. The second looks at the relationship between underage alcohol consumption and low-level crime and how this relationship can be exploited to reduce antisocial behaviour. The third report looks at groups of youths and how membership of peer groups affects the behaviour of youths.
