National Standards and Strategic Assessments
"Delivering Community Safety: A guide to effective partnership working" will support partnerships in delivering the National Standards. There are examples of good practice throughout the document which show how partnerships are already meeting the National Standards. The team responsible for the document have also drafted some updated Frequently Asked Questions which can be found by following the link below.

Following the publication of 'Delivering Safer Communities: A guide to effective partnership working', the Home Office received requests for further information on strategic assessments for partnerships. It has therefore drafted a suggested outline for a partnership strategic assessment. The outline can be used as a discussion in your partnership about the content of the strategic assessment or could for the basis for the content of the strategic assessment.

There are a series of regional launch events for the 'Delivering Community Safety: A guide to effective partnership working' guidance document. These will take place in every region in England & Wales in October & November. You can find out when an event is taking place in your area by following the link below.
Crime statistics
The latest quarterly crime statistics, covering the 12 months to June 2007, show no overall change in the level of British Crime Survey crime, and a headline reduction of 7% in recorded crime figures. A further bulletin, on crimes detected in England & Wales, showed a 2 percentage point increase in the proportion of crime detected by a sanction detection.
Expert chat
We've had 2 further online expert chat sessions over the past month on the topics of domestic violence and delivering PSA1. Online chats are free and open to all. The next session will take place on Tuesday 6 November between 12pm and 2pm; the topic under discussion will be burglary.

CCTV
The National CCTV Strategy presents the results of a wide-ranging review of CCTV and its applications in the reduction of crime and in public safety. The report reviews the use of CCTV to date, examining both its strengths and its weaknesses and makes recommendations for future action.
