As part of the CDRP (Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships) Reform programme, the Home Office and a range of stakeholders have identified what works well in partnerships and have developed the ‘hallmarks of effective partnerships’. In changing the legislation to more closely reflect these hallmarks, we aim to consolidate effective practice and ensure that all partnerships deliver to a common standard. Beyond these minimum statutory requirements, partnerships have the flexibility to deliver in their own way.
‘Delivering Community Safety: A guide to effective partnership working.’ has been produced to support CDRPs and CSPs (Community Safety Partnerships) as they implement the new requirements. This document is available to down load from 17th September 2007 and contains advice and information on how partnerships can facilitate effective partnership working and improve performance. This guidance also contains good practice examples from the field to illustrate how partnerships throughout England and Wales are currently achieving effective partnership working. A published copy of this document will be available in late September 2007.
The guidance was developed to support the ‘Crime and Disorder (formulation and implementation of Strategy) Regulations’ (Statutory Instrument 2007 No.1830) and ‘Crime and Disorder (Prescribed Information) Regulations’ (Statutory Instrument 2007 1831). Both can be reviewed on the Crime Reduction Website.
