JTrack Training
Training
JTrack training falls into three categories:
- Basic
- 'Train the Trainer'
- Reports
A CD-ROM of training materials which provides a comprehensive overview of requirements can be obtained from the Home Office PPO Programme Team by emailing ppo@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk. The CD-ROM is provided at no cost.
Training is provided at no cost to the User's organisation. The only costs incurred locally are travelling and subsistence allowances where attendance is required.
JTrack 'Train the Trainer' accreditation course
Description
This course is aimed at users who will train other people within their organisation to use JTrack. The course covers:
- Background to the PPO scheme and JTrack
- How to use JTrack
- Training Users to use JTrack 'Data entry and Reports Training'
- 'Hints and tips' - what we've learned from training JTrack
Who should attend
This course is aimed at individuals who will be able to provide other individuals within their organisation with basic JTrack training. Most of these individuals will be JTrack Users who have been tasked with ensuring there is sufficient knowledge of the system to accommodate leave and other absences.
Course style
The course is practical with an emphasis on learning through discovery. Delegates will have the opportunity to take part in a set of exercises during which they will apply the knowledge they have gained. There will also be some group discussion.
Prerequisites
- Delegates should be comfortable using a computer and a mouse.
- Delegates should feel comfortabel providing informal one-to-one desk training to other users - with the help of the CD-ROM

- Add other arrest outcomes - cautions and NFAs

- Change my details
- Accessing JTrack
- Getting help with JTrack
- Collate and search a Police case
- Adding a charge laid at court
- Updating 'next event'
- Amending charges at court
- Finalising more than one offence at once
- Offender warrant issue and execution
- Remitting a case to another court.
JTrack Reports Training
Description
The reports training course covers all the reports available in JTrack. It advises on how to use the reports, export functionality and lists to monitor performance for your area. Training covers:
- All the reports in JTrack
- Export functionality
- The 'dashboard', weekly Criminal Justice Area by Borough Command Unit report
Who should attend
Reports training can combine both CPS and Police Users and is aimed at:
- Experienced or 'super users' for the area
- Managers that monitor JTrack usage
- Senior Managers and Intelligence Officers
Course Style
The training course will involve question and answer sessions and informal exercises.

- First Hearing decisions by Court
- Charge Change by BCU
- Export offence data and Export PNC PO list
- Monitoring tools
- Weekly CJA and BCU reports
- Dashboards
- Lists in JTrack (including outstanding post-charge offence list)
JTrack Basic Training
Basic training for new users of JTrack is provided locally by individuals who have attended the 'Train the Trainer' course. The list of trainers for your area can be found on the JTrack help screen. If you cannot find someone listed for your area please contact the PPO Programme Team at ppo@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk who will be able to assist you.
