Distraction Burglary Good Practice Guide

Tackling Distraction Burglary

Is it because often we're covered by insurance and don't want the old model back if we get a new one? Probably. Unless an item has sentimental or practical value and can't be replaced, we're unlikely to want stolen property returned, especially if its months after the burglary and we've forgotten all about it.

Mobile Telephones (Re-Programming) Act
This Act, which came into force on 4 October 2002, aims to tackle the rise in mobile phone theft by creating new offences that could mean five years in prison and unlimited fines for those re-programming stolen mobile phones. Mobile phone theft is a key factor in the rise in street robberies.
