Guide to Security Standards for Doors & Windows

ACPO CPI Ltd have produced a leaflet in association with the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB), British Security Industry Association (BSIA), and the Association of British Insurers (ABI) to explain the relevance of the various technical standards required for security of windows and doors, dependent on their application and risk factor. The leaflet is a clear comparison between established security standards appropriate for the protection of windows and doors against burglary.
Products must be certified by a UKAS accredited certification body rather than be type tested to ensure that they conform to these standards, and certification ensures that manufacturers continue to produce products to a high standard.
The leaflets have been branded under the Secured by Design logo but companies using or producing products to these standards are not necessarily Secured by Design licensees and must not use the logo unless they have an agreement with ACPO CPI Ltd.
