IT DOESN'T HAVE TO HAPPEN
AN OVERVIEW
It Doesn't Have to Happen (IDHTH) is a national campaign which aims to support and deliver anti-knife crime initiatives throughout England and Wales.
Conceived by the Home Office and developed by young people, the campaign's main objective is to reduce the possession and use of knives among young people. We want them to understand the consequences of knife crime - for themselves, their families and their communities. We want them to say ‘no to knives' and have a positive influence on each other.
We want to continue to work with local councils, charities, local organisations and community groups to amplify the national campaign voice and encourage even more young people to say no to knives. We want you to use your local knowledge to reach young people at-risk of carrying a knife and to use IDHTH to convey anti-knife crime messages. By working together we can help build momentum and create a united front against knife crime.
