Student Victimisation
Welcome
Welcome to the Student Victimisation mini site. This site has been set up to provide information and advice on all aspects of student victimisation and to give examples of good student crime reduction initiatives. This site is aimed primarily at practitioners and contains guidance on how to set up student crime awareness campaigns, where to get funding, research studies and links to relevant organisations.
"Being at university is one of the most exciting experiences anyone can have. But it can be spoilt by unexpected crime, which can be devastating experience for someone living away from home for the first time. Young people aged 16 to 24 years old are around three times more likely to be victims of burglary than people in other age groups. Helping students with practical advice will help us to tackle that." (Former Home Office Minister Hazel Blears, April 2006)
