Main Government Initiatives
The Government has introduced a range of new interventions and punishments to help
partnerships tackle anti-social behaviour. These include new legislation (www.homeoffice.gov.uk/cdacty/index)
and joined up initiatives across Government Departments and agencies, at a local level.
These are aimed at tackling social exclusion factors that can impact upon
anti-social behaviour. The
Crime Reduction Strategy launched by the Government in November 1999, details some
of the steps being taken to reduce anti-social behaviour. (www.crimereduction.gov.uk/crsdoc6.htm)
