Violence at Work
In June 2000 the Health and Safety Commission (HSC) launched a new initiative to
tackle the problem of work-related violence.
The HSC has set a target of reducing the amount of work-related violence by 10%
by June 2003.
The programme to achieve this involves:
raising awareness of the problem and how it can be tackled
developing guidance targeted at those sectors most at risk
commissioning research to build on existing knowledge and to evaluate strategies
for managing the problem.
