Business Improvement Districts

The Prime Minister has announced his intention of introducing legislation to enable the creation of business improvement districts. Councils or businesses in these districts will be able to propose improvement schemes over and above what would normally be provided. With the agreement of a majority of businesses, these will be funded by an additional business rate.
