Who should they report to?

These groups are specialist and will need to be sub-groups of the wider, larger strategic partnerships that oversee drug-related crime – the DAT’s and CDRP’s. They can act as effective sub-groups of both partnerships (e.g. as a Drug Reference Group for the DAT), but report formally to both groups. Their reports on their activity against agreed partnership targets can constitute the official accountable reporting for expenditure used. They should take responsibility for this role for the CDRP and DAT. It will require them to have the right systems for collection of data. Any such group will also need to fit into NIM structures and tasking co-ordination.
