Assessing impact 1: Partnership effectiveness

Partnerships concerned with drug related offending and supply should try to assess how successful, as a whole they have been in working effectively together. The Home Office has developed a self-assessment framework for CDRP/DATs which is a useful tool to aid this process. Guidance and other information is available on the crime reduction website under http://www.crimereduction.gov.uk/selfassessment/

A self-assessment should include consideration of such factors as:

  • The seniority of partnership representatives

  • The conduct of meetings and the reaching of agreed decisions

  • The engagement and compliance of a range of key partners

  • The commitment of resources

  • The degree of engagement of the general public via consultation

  • The support staff available to the partnership.
