Carrying out Spatial Analysis

The information required for undertaking micro-level spatial analysis may not be routinely collected in your area. If it is collected and collated it may have been for other operational purposes - e.g. data collected by police Scenes of Crimes Officers (SOCO) will be particularly important. See data gathering section by clicking here.

You can also use:

  • Site visits

  • Local architectural Liaison Officers

  • "Planning for Real" exercises

  • Traffic management research etc.

Some of the factors that might commonly be examined during micro-level spatial analysis are listed in the linked table.
