Committee Approval

Sufficient time needs to be allowed for the completed strategy to be endorsed by elected members and to pass through the relevant council committees; in two-tier authorities this process may take longer as endorsement is required at both levels. It may indeed ease the path of the document and improve understanding of the issues, if elected members are involved earlier on in the process of preparation of the audit and strategy or are members of the Crime and Disorder Partnership (see Role of Elected Members).
