
Local Data Sources for Crime, Disorder and Fear on Public
Transport
Table 2 (below) outlines local data sources that will assist
partnerships to quantify crime, disorder and fear occurring on and
around public transport systems. In addition to obtaining data on
the number of incidents, it may be useful to develop crime rates
from local data to facilitate meaningful comparisons between areas,
routes or stations. One of the best methods of calculating crime
rates is to base these on the number of passengers passing through
the system.
