Robberies and Assaults Committed Against Employees

Robberies and assaults committed against employees can have considerable emotional, physical and financial consequences for employees. These attacks also impact employers through reduced productivity, employee absenteeism, retention problems, and in some cases legal action against employers. They are therefore, a considerable problem for public transport.

Table 3. Summary of responses to the problem of robberies and assaults committed against transport employees. Source: Crimes against Employees: Assault and Robbery. Problem Solving Guides for Public Transport (see Appendix to this Toolkit).
