Drawing up a balanced programme

It is important that your Crime & Disorder Reduction Partnership tackle children and youth offending problems through a balanced package of measures, involving action across a range of fronts. Partnerships will want to see that responses to Persistent Young Offenders have preventative elements, as well as responding to young people involved in offending, and young people whose offending is within the persistent criterion. This will help ensure that sustainable improvements are achieved.

Plotting what is planned or in progress will help to double-check that your programme contains that balance.

As well as interventions and initiatives that the partnership and partners will take forward, there may well be opportunities to mobilise others to take supporting action. The 'who can help' page highlights many groups with an interest.

Click here for a progress chart. Using different colours, the chart should distinguish between:

Actions the partnership will lead on

Work already in progress

Developments that partners need to influence.
