Action Taken by People Who Worry About Racial Harassment

Some 14% of the ethnic minority population reported having taken measures to avoid being racially harassed. The figure below shows the measures taken:

  • Avoidance strategies also included:

    • an acceptance of "low level" harassment as somehow "normal"

    • avoiding areas and activities seen as unsafe

    • placing restrictions on the activity of children.
