Best Value

Best Value http://www.local-regions.detr.gov.uk/bestvalue/indicators/bvaudit/index.htm

Part 1 of the Local Government Act 1999 sets out the requirements for Best Value authorities. Best Value authorities are required to secure continuous improvement in the way in which they exercise their functions, having regard to economy, efficiency and effectiveness. Best Value is about delivering commitments at the local level to achieve these improvements. The Best Value Performance Indicators for 2001/2002 that impact on repeat victimisation are:

  • BV154 Percentage of reported Domestic Violence incidents that involved victims of a reported domestic violence incident in the previous twelve months.

  • BV 155 Percentage of domestic burglaries where the property has been burgled in the previous twelve months.
