ACRE (Action with Communities in Rural England)
ACRE is the national association of Community Councils in rural England. Its aim is to promote diverse and sustainable rural communities through its Network of Rural Community Councils operating in each County across England, each working to alleviate disadvantage and social exclusion.
ACRE provides a wide range of information, advice and publications on rural community development. It currently supports action and projects throughout England with initiatives addressing regeneration and community development work on poverty and social exclusion. In addition, ACRE also works towards improving the quality of organisational standards and fieldwork training for local rural development agencies.
